Sibling Test (Legal & Non-Legal)
Service Description
When it’s not possible to test the alleged father, it may be beneficial to compare the child with a sibling. The Sibling DNA Test will determine if two, or more, tested parties are full-siblings, half-siblings, or unrelated. Unlike a paternity test, two siblings don’t always share DNA types in common when considering each marker tested. Each sibling should share half of their DNA in common, but it’s not uncommon for two full siblings to not share a number (allele) in common at each genetic location. For a Sibling DNA Test, the comparison relies on the statistics to determine how likely they are related. Required: 2 siblings There is a 46 Marker test (non-legal only) option which is the highest in the industry giving the best chance for a conclusive result. The law requires legal tests to use 24 markers- If the result is not conclusive, the sample can be tested again using the 46 marker test (add $129 fee) to increase the likelihood for a conclusive result. The court may or may not accept the 46 marker test- case by case basis. We recommend adding the mother’s DNA to the test for best results. Adding the mother or additional children are $139 extra per person. ($25 Extra if shipped separate)
